Islanders vs. Jets 4/2/13

Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the New York Islanders (17-16-3) play host to the Winnipeg Jets (18-17-2) in NHL action at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

This will be the second of three meetings between the Isles and Jets, with Winnipeg holding a 1-0 edge thanks to a 5-4 overtime victory that happened on 1/27.

Isles Recap:

The Islanders were able to record a huge 3-1 victory over Metropolitan Area rival the New Jersey Devils on Monday. Josh Bailey scored in the opening minute, and the team never looked back. Also notching goals for New York were Travis Hamonic and John Tavares, as the guys will be coming home after a four-game road trip and a 3-1-0 record during that stretch.

Islanders head coach Jack Capuano recorded his 77th head coaching victory with the Islanders on Monday, tying Peter Laviolette for third place on the all-time franchise wins list (Al Arbour -740; Terry Simpson -81).

The Isles and Jets game is set to air on the MSG Plus network, with face-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
