Nets vs. Nuggets 3/29/13

Here are some notes for those fans watching the Brooklyn Nets (42-29) who are on the road to take on the Denver Nuggets (49-24) in NBA action on Friday.

If the Nets win it would sweep the season series with Denver and end a five game road losing-streak to the Nuggets that began on 1/25/08. It’d also be the 21st road victory of the season, which would set the franchise record for most road wins in a season.

Nets Recap:

The Nets had a milestone night in their 111-93 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Reggie Evans compiled his first career 20 point, 20 rebound game while scoring a career-high-tying 22 points while grabbing a career-high 26 rebounds.

Brooklyn also tied a franchise record with their 20th road win of the season, which is the first time that’s been done since 2005-06.

Brooklyn is Playoff Bound:

March 21 was a historic day for the Nets, who clinched a playoff berth for the first time since the 2006-07 season. It ended the longest postseason drought in NBA franchise history (five seasons) and was the 17th playoff appearance for the team overall.

Nets Milestones to watch for:

Brook Lopez is 25 offensive rebounds away from 900 and 31 assists away from 500

Andray Blatche is 21 assists from 700

MarShon Brooks is 22 steals away from 100, 14 assists away from 200 and six field-goals made from 400

The Nets and the Nuggets game is scheduled to air on the YES Network, with tip-off slated for 9:00 p.m.
