Islanders vs. Flyers 3/28/13

Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the New York Islanders (15-15-3) who are on the road to take on the Philadelphia Flyers (13-17-2) in NHL action tonight.

New York continues their four-game road trip, with this second meeting against Philadelphia. The Islanders are looking for a bit of revenge as the Flyers won the first meeting 7-0 on 2/18.

Islanders Recap:

John Tavares’ goal broke a 2-2 tie with 5:18 remaining to help the Islanders defeat the Washington Capitals 3-2 on Tuesday. Michael Grabner and Josh Bailey also contributed on offense with key goals in the game.

Is this the start of something?

The Islanders have won two-straight games for the seventh time this season. Fourteen of their 15 victories have come in their seven two-game winning streaks. The team is looking to win three-straight games for the first time this season.

John Tavares is on a four-game point streak (3g/1a).

Frans Nielsen is on a three-game assist streak, with three assist over the span.

Matt Moulson has nine assists in his last nine games.
