Islanders vs. Lightning 3/14/13

Here are some notes for those fans watching the New York Islanders (11-12-3) take on the Tampa Bay Lightning (11-14-1) in NHL action.

New York concludes a three-game road trip tonight in Tampa Bay. This is the second of three meetings this season between the clubs. Dating back to last season, the home team has won the last five games.

Playing for the second consecutive day, the Islanders fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 6-1. New York surrendered five-point nights to Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz, which helped to lead Pittsburgh to the victory.

New York saw a season-high five-game point streak (3-0-2) snapped in the game.
