Nets vs. Rockets 2/22/13

Here are some notes for those fans watching the Brooklyn Nets (33-22) who play host to the Houston Rockets (30-26) in NBA action at the Barclays Center.

If the Nets win it would snap a 12-game losing streak to Houston, which dates back to 12/27/06. It’d also end a streak of nine consecutive home losses to Houston beginning on 11/04/03. It’d also be the fifth-consecutive victory overall (all against playoff opponents), which dates back to 2/11 and the third straight win at home.

A victory tonight would move P.M. Carlesimo to a 20-8 record as Interim Head Coach, which is tied for the best start for a coach in franchise history.

Nets Notes:

Over the last three games C.J. Watson is averaging 17.7 points on 20-32 shooting (62.5 %) and is 9-14 from beyond the arc (64.3). Watson also has seven steals in the last three games (tied his season-high with three steals at MIL 2/20).

Andray Blatche recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and a team-high 12 boards against Milwaukee.

Last time out for Brooklyn:

The Nets were able to extend their winning streak to four games with a 97-94 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on 2/20. Deron Williams had one of his best games in recent memory by recording a team-high 23 points with eight assists. Brooklyn’s bench tallied 47 points and brought in 23 boards.

Nets Milestones to watch for:

Brook Lopez is one game away from 300 played and eight starts from 300

Kris Humphries is 10 rebounds away from 3,000 total boards, four offensive from 1,000 and six defensive rebounds away from 2,000

The Nets and the Rockets game is scheduled to play on the YES Network, with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m.
