Here are some notes for those watching the New York Islanders (4-2-1) host the New Jersey Devils (3-1-3) in hockey action at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Sunday.
The Islanders return home from a five-game (eight day road trip) on a high with a 3-1-1 record. New York will now play nine-games in the New York/New Jersey Area (January 31-Feb 18). The guys are looking to win consecutive games against New Jersey for the first time in over 26 years.
New York is on a three-game point streak (2-0-1), while keeper Evgeni Nabokov is on a five-game point streak (4-0-1). The Islanders have gone 5-for-6 on power players over the last two games and 6-for-8 over the last three.

John Tavares is on a three-game goal scoring streak, with four goals over that stretch. While Frans Nielsen is on a three-game assist streak, with five helpers over that stretch.
Tavares-to-Moulson still Magic:
Tavares has earned assists on 2 of Matt Moulson’s four goals this season. Tavares has been on the ice for 64 consecutive Moulson goals, earning assist on 42 of them (dating back to a Moulson goal on Nov. 17, 2010).
