Knicks vs. 76ers 1/26/13

Here are some notes for those fans watching the New York Knicks (26-14) who are on the road taking on the Philadelphia 76ers (17-25) in NBA action on Saturday. This will be the third of four games between these two, as the Knicks look to continue their winning streak against the 76ers.

In two battles against Philly New York was led offensively by Carmelo Anthony, who had 24.0 points and 6.0 rebounds. J.R. Smith averaged 18.5 points and 8.0 boards in two games.

The Knicks have always played well on the 26th of January, as in 2002 Latrell Sprewell scored 48 points in a 129-127 OT victory over the Bucks in Milwaukee. In 2007 Jamal Crawford scored 52 points, which is sixth most in the team’s history in a 116-96 victory over the Miami Heat.

New York was able to pick-up a huge victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday, as the team snapped an 11-game losing streak against their rivals in a 89-86 decision. Helping to lead the way in that game was Carmelo Anthony who had 28 points.

Anthon has posted at least 20-points in 27 straight games, which is the third longest streak in franchise history. The 27-straight 20-point games are the longest such streak of his career.

The Knicks and 76ers are set to play on the MSG network with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
