Here are some notes for those fans watching the Brooklyn Nets (26-17) who are on the road to take on the Houston Rockets (23-22) in NBA action on Saturday.
If the Nets win it would snap an 11-game losing streak to Houston dating back to 12/27/06, while also snapping a streak of five consecutive road losses in Houston, which began on 3/9/07. The possible victory would also tie the franchise record of 11 wins in the month of January.
Brooklyn have had two of their best months in franchise history in November and January, the 11 wins in November was a franchise high for the month and was just the sixth time in team history that a team won as many as 11 games in a single month.
Thus far the Nets have 10 victories in January, which is now the fourth in franchise history.
Brooklyn Milestones to watch for:
Something to watch for in the upcoming games for the Brooklyn Nets is the play of Deron Williams, who is currently 38 assists shy of 5,000 for his career. If Williams can make that mark, he would become jus the seventh player since 1985-86 to record 5,000 assists in fewer than 600 games played.
Last time out for Brooklyn:
The Nets had a three-game winning streak snapped by the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. Center Brook Lopez continues to play a strong center position for Brooklyn, having led the offense in this game with 18 points, while also recording three blocked shots. Reggie Evans recorded his first double-double as a Net with 11 points and 10 boards.
Evans continues to rank first in the NBA in rebounds per 48 minutes (19.3) while also sits first with a 23.8% total rebounding percentage. Only four players in NBA history have averaged 24.0% TRB% and over 15 minutes per game.
The Nets and Rockets game is set to air on the YES Network, with tip-off slated for 8:00 p.m.
