Islanders vs. Bruins 1/25/13

Here are some notes as the New York Islanders (2-1-0) are on the road to take on the Boston Bruins (2-0-1) in NHL action on Friday.

This will be the first of three meetings this season, and the first of New York’s first two visits to Boston. The Islanders were able to explode to a 7-4 victory over the Toronto on Thursday, as the team is in the middle of a five-game road trip.

Thus far the Bruins are on fire, and helping to lead the way in the cage is Tuuka Rask, who holds a 1.95 goals against average and a .926 save percentage.

For New York Matt Moulson is starting to get his scoring touch, netting two goals, while Michael Grabner also had two scores while also recording an assist. Grabner has been on fire scoring three goals while also holding five points in the team’s first three outings.

Notching his first goal for the Islanders was Brad Boyes, who also recorded two assists. John Tavares continues to rack up the points for New York, as the center thus far has five assists.

The Isles and Bruins are set to skate on the MSG Plus network, with face-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
