Nets vs. Hawks notes 1/18/13

Here are some notes for those watching the Brooklyn Nets (23-16) host the Atlanta Hawks (22-16) in NBA action at the Barclays Center on Friday night.

If the Nets win it would extend the home winning-streak to a season-high seven games, while also moving interim head coach P.J. Carlesimo to 10-2, which is second best start for a coach in franchise history.

Milestone for the scorekeeper:

Friday night marks Nets official scorer Herb Turetzky’s 1,200th consecutive game worked and his 1,887th game overall for the organization. The streak began 29 seasons ago, as Turetzky is now in his 46th season as the Nets’ official scorer.

Brooklyn had their seven game-winning streak come to an end as the Nets fell to the Hawks on Wednesday. The Nets look to snap a six-game losing streak against Atlanta, this streak dates back to 3/26/11 and a two-game losing streak at home.

Center Brook Lopez, who recorded team-highs of 22 points and nine boards. Lopez ranks 7th in the NBA rankings in Blocks per game (2.1) while also ranking 20th in field goal percentage (.517).

Reggie Evans continues to be a rebounding machine for the Nets, as the forward ranks first in the NBA in rebounds per 48 minutes thus far this season. Evans also is ranked first with a 23.7 total rebounding percentage.
