Rangers ink Del Zotto and Gilroy to new contracts

The New York Rangers announced on Sunday that they have inked new contracts with blueliner Michael Del Zotto and Matt Gilroy. The franchise did not announce terms for either deal.

Del Zotto was a restricted free agent, coming off a career-high 10 goals and 41 points with the Blueshirts in 2011-12. The 22-year-old defenseman, who was also the Rangers first round draft pick in the 2008 NHL Draft, is entering his fourth season with the club. Thus far Del Zotto has recorded 21 goals and 89 points in 204 career games to date.

Gilroy returns to the Rangers having spending the 2011-12 season with the Tampa Bay Lighting and Ottawa Senators. Having signed with the Rangers as a free agent in the spring of 2009, Gilroy played two years with the Blueshirts recording 26 points in 127 games.
