This will be the final two meetings against the Hornets, while also being the lone contest at Madison Square Garden. New York was able to defeat New Orleans earlier this season by a final score of 102-80, helping to lead the offense in that game was Carmelo Anthony who had 29 points, six boards and four assists over 28 minutes of play.

Anthony is leading the NBA in first quarter scoring this season with 9.4 points, while also being second in the NBA in scoring averaging posting 29.93 points-a-game. In his last 10 games the forward is averaging 32.4 ppg.

Jason Kidd continues to make an impact for the Knicks offense, as the guard ranks in the top of the NBA in a multitude of categories this season. Thus far Jason ranks ninth in the NBA in 3P% shooting .425 from behind the arc (68-160), seventh in the NBA in assists/turnover ratio at 3.10, and sixth in the league in steal-per-turnover at 1.33.

New York-New Orleans Connection:

Hornets head coach Monty Williams was selected by New York in the first round (24th overall) of the 1994  NBA Draft, while playing two seasons in the Big Apple.
