Knicks vs. Pacers Notes 1/10/13

Here are notes for those fans watching the New York Knicks (23-11) as they hit the road to take on the Indiana Pacers (21-14) in NBA action at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indiana.

This will be the second of four meetings against the Pacers, while being the first of two at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

New York maybe without forward Carmelo Anthony, who was suspended one-game after the confrontation with Celtics Kevin Garnett in Madison Square Garden on January 7. Anthony was a huge piece to the Knicks’ victory over the Pacers, recording 26 points and nine rebounds.

J.R. Smith was also a big piece to that victory, as the guard finished with 13 points and seven boards playing from the bench. Smith has been on fire as of late recording double-figure points in 18 straight games, while also recording 15 points or more in 16 straight games.

New York has always done very well on the days they have played on the 10th of January. In 2006 Jamal Crawford recorded 26 off the bench, including 11 straight in the third quarter in a 92-84 victory against Cleveland.

New York – Indiana Connection:

Knicks Head Coach Mike Woodson was born in Indianapolis, IN and played collegiately for Indiana University.

Pacers center Roy Hibbert was born in Queens, New York, while guard Lance Stephenson grew up in Brooklyn, while attending Abraham Lincoln High School.
