Down on the Farm: New York Rangers

Thus far the Connecticut Whale has skated to a 0-2-0 AHL record to begin the American Hockey League Season.

Leading the Whale offensively has been Kris Newbury who has tallied three goals for three points, close behind is top prospect Kyle Jean with two goals and one assist.

In the Whale’s 3-2 loss to the Winnipeg affiliate IceCaps, the penalty kill was tested for a full 10 minutes killing off venalities. Newbury scored his third goal In two games off assist from Sean Collins and Chris Kreider.

Keeper Scott Stajcer made 22 saves in the loss. Thanks to their play in the game Newbery and Jean were named the second and third stars of the game.

The Whale will be in action again as they take the road to skate against the Norfolk Admirals twice on Friday and Saturday nights.
