New York Islanders announce ticket sale date for game against the Devils at Barclay’s Center

The New York Islanders announced today via official press release that tickets for the pre-season game against the New Jersey Devils at the Barclays Center will go on sale on Thursday, March 29 at 10 a.m.  Fans wanting to pick up tickets to the first game in the new state-of the-art arena can do so by visiting www.barclayscenter.com or www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.

It has been a long time since the NHL has graced the borough of Brooklyn, as it was in the 1941-42 season that the New York Americans moved to the area.

Brooklyn, who has given fans such sports figures like Joe Paterno (Penn State University), Joe Pepitone (MLB), Joe Torre (MLB), Al ‘Bummy’ Davis (boxing), Larry Brown (NBA), Mike Tyson (boxing), Paul Lo Duca (MLB), Vinny Testaverde (NFL) and Vince Lombardi (NFL); will now get to regain a professional sports team after losing the Dodgers to Los Angeles after the 1957 season.

Scheduled to open in September 2012, the Barclays Center will be a major sports and entertainment venue in the heart of Brooklyn, and is already stet to host some amazing events including a concert by Jay-Z, who is a native to the area.

The Barclays Center is ideally located for fans wanting to take mass transit, as the venue is accessible by 11 subway lines and the Long Island Rail Road.
