The New York Rangers are going to give fans a real treat in the month of February, holding two events that Blueshirts Nation are sure to mark on their calendar. First-up for fans is a four day celebration of Hockey on Feb 17-20.
The first event is known as ‘Hockey Weekend,’ will have free ‘Try Hockey’ days along with days for fans to skate along with the Rangers’ greats. Starting on Friday, February 17th the Blueshirts will have an interactive social networking day, where fans can show pride for the team on the team’s Facebook and twitter pages.
Fans following @thenyrangers can learn where to meet their favorite players, receive giveaways and pick-up free skating vouchers to the select tri-state rinks on Monday, Feb. 20th.
On Saturday the organization will have a ‘Try Hockey Day,’ where the Rangers will host a series of free lessons, clinics and public skating lessons. There will also be a ton of Blueshirts alumni and raffle prizes to be had on that day.
Prior to the game against the Blue Jackets on Sunday, February 19, the organization will hold ‘Youth Hockey Night,’ which will feature an in-arena and on-air celebration of Youth Hockey in the tri-state area. The Rangers will also present the Emile Francis Award, which recognizes sacrifice, dedication and impact that volunteers have on the grassroots development and youth and amateur hockey.
The four-day event will finish on Presidents Day, with free skating at select rinks throughout the tri-state area.

The second event will be the 2nd Annual Blueshirts Bowl on Wednesday, February 22, from 7-9:30 p.m. hosted by the BlueshirtsUnited.com site. The Blueshirts Bowl will feature appearances by Brandon Dubinsky, Brian Boyle, Ruslan Fedotenko, Ryan McDonagh and Rangers alumni Ron Greschner and Nick Fotiu.
