Rangers/Lighting preview

The New York Rangers (33-13-5) look to snap a two-game losing streak in a 7:00 p.m. face-off against the Tampa Bay Lighting (23-24-5) concluding a three-game homestand at Madison Square Garden.

New York holds a 8-3-3 record in their last 14 games against the Bolts, with each of the last six meetings decided by two goals or less.

The Rangers are expected to play keeper Martin Biron in the cage against Tampa Bay. Biron holds a 10-7-2 record against the Bolts, while also having a 2.66 GAA.  Marty has done well in his starts for New York, holding opponents to two or fewer goals in the 12 times he has manned the cage.

Looking to continue their hot play for the Rangers’ is sniper Marian Gaborik, who has tallied nine points (three goals, six assists). Blueliner Michael Del Zotto has recorded three points (two goals, one assist) in the last five games, while Bryan Boyle has three points (one goal, two assists) in the last five games.

Steve Eminger, who is slated to skate in the game, is five points from 100 in his career, while young-gun Artem Anisimov is three points away from reaching that plateau as well.
