The rivarly between New York and New England was once again renewed at Citi Field, as New York City FC fell to the Revolution by a final of 2-1 in MLS action.
In terms of weather it was a beautiful day as the Boys in Blue made the way to the playing surface for today, as they are currently battling to regain momentum and a higher level in terms of ranking in the MLS standings.
When it came time for the scoring in the match, it was New England getting the first goal on a penalty by Carles Gil, as the two team battled things through before a goal by Luighi tied things up for the home side.
After that a very intense Second Half saw New England being able to get two goals, one called back because of the VAR, but the other stood tall and was enough for the three points as the Revs are now in Third Place in the MLS standings.
Getting the game-winner is a name familiar to the NYCFC fans as Daniel Gazdag got not only the goal that got called back, but the one that stuck to be the game-winner.

Gazdag becoming a member of the roster on September 1 on a trade made by the Columbus Crew and a part of a new look Revs’ Roster.
Another new additon to the visiting side roster is a face very familiar to New York City FC fans in Jack Harrison.
Harrison the team’s #1 pick in the 2016 in the MLS SuperDraft, playing 80 minutes in the match thus far in the return to the MLS he is playing well as he has 15 chances created, a passing accuracy rating of 85% and 550 minutes played.
There were a ton of intriguing facts and figures from the match including a milestone moment NYCFC goalkeeper Matt Freese saw a special moment in his 400th career save, including a very acrobatic one in the Second Half of play.
New York City FC currently in Ninth place has themselves a very fascinating home match next in going up against the New York Red Bulls currently ranked 12th on September 18, but before that is going to be a trip to America First Field and facing Real Sale Lake on the 12th.
