With the Second Half of the 2026 MLS season about to begin, the guys had been ever since the break for the World Cup Tourney hard at work and making sure that they made the most of this oppotunity to develop themselves.
That was something that Head Coach Michael Bradley emphasized during members of the New York media during the training session the team held on Tuesday in New Jersey.
This was something all of MLS was ready for and prepared for and Coach Bradley especially wanted to make sure he and the team put in the full effort during these moments, so when they went to Philadelphia on July 22 , they can be one of the teams gaining momentum in this portion of the schedule.
“We really pushed training during this time and with this is a unique opportunity that is maximized,” Coach Bradley said during the Question-and-Answer session. “Teams can fine momentum in the second part of the season and the thing that everyone is going to see is which of the teams that are able to put in the work during these times and be rewarded, that part is really positive. We feel really good about it, build the ideas the identity and we are excited for the real stuff to start again.”
Overall, there is a ton of positivity around the Red Bulls are in Fifth Place in the MLS standings, and are led by a young core of players and that is something that is going to be the trend for the team as the franchise progresses.
Ranked 12th in the MLS in scoring is Julian Hall with his eight goals thus far, in addition to being named MLS Team of the Week at least Three Times.
The Youth Movement is going to be one that is going to be a part of the Red Bulls Franchise and winning championships as Coach Bradley had this to say, “Any young player that is talented and take the next steps in the career there is an opportunity to move along with the RBNY organization. They are going to be a real destination for young players for all across the country…they want to develop the players to the core of the RBNY identity. We are going to want to be that type of club and be able to develop, play and win with young players and moves them along with the next step of the career.”
This match against Philadelphia is going to be a high-level challenge for them, as the guys are looking to break a win streak that the Union have held since the 2019 season.
The closest the franchise has come to results at Subaru Park were in 2022 and 2023 in being able to earn ties in those years.
This year with the youth movement, with the development with the team and with the overall quality on the team it should be fascinating to see how the July 22 showdown is going to go. Match time is scheduled for 7:30 pm
