As they have entered into the Second Half of the SAL Season, the guys are playing some great baseball as they have a 14-12 record since May 22. A fun fact from the Cyclones PR department includes the fact that the five wins from the June 2-7 stretch was the most the team has had in a single series this year.
The pitching rotation for the team has seen some fine starts, including that from Dakota Hawkins.
‘The Hawk’ being a converted closer now turned starter has a 1.27 ERA (4ER in 28.1 IP) in the last 14 appearances in the Mets Minor Leagues.
Fans in Coney Island are also seeing some great pitching from RHP José Chirinos, as in four career starts he has a 3.86 ERA and 21.0 innings and 23 strikeouts.
Some of the other bats impressing as of late is Corey Collins, as he was on a tear with a 20-game-on base streak recently. In addition, the Infielder has reached base in 24 of the 25 games with 13 runs scores along with four doubles, five homers and 18 RBI.
JT Benson is someone that is one of the key contributors for the team in the 2026 Season, as he has reached base safely in the last 20 contest. Benson is tied for second in the South Atlantic League in Doubles (9) since his debut on May 19.
The series against Jersey Shore continues today at 6:40 pm. LHP Daviel Hurtado (2-1, 2.01 ERA) will take the mound for Brooklyn, and he is going to face Jersey Shore LHP Mavis Graves (1-4, 3.74 ERA).
Hurtado is thrilling fans with his composure and being able to routninely throw shutdown innings since getting the call to pitch with the Cyclones.
In the first four High-A starts the ERA for the lefty is now 0.50 and he has only allowed one or two earned runs through his first weeks.
