Red Bulls ignite a spark with victory against Chicago

With the Red Bulls of New York looking to regain momentum and on the road, were able to present the type of team that can be as the rest of the 2026 season progresses.

Playing a full match with stellar defensive play and then getting goals from Jorge Ruvalcaba, Cade Cowell, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as the guys were able to gain a huge three points on the road in the 3-1 victory against the Chicago Fire.

Some fun stats and facts from the match include the fact that Ruvalcaba was able to net his fourth MLS goal of the season, and has him tied ranked for third among MLS newcomers.

One of the assists on that goal came from Emil Forsberg, as the Red Bull Captain was able to notch the 20th helper of his career.

Gaining his first MLS goal was Cade Cowell and much of the chat for Cowell was the fact that he would get to show more of his form during the 2026 MLS Season.

The moment that is going to have all of the Red Bull fanbase fired up was seeing a goal from Choupo, as he was able to get the second of the season and the 19th of his career.

During the last home stands the fanbase was cheering for Choupo to be able to see more playing time with the team, with the supporters group all shouting “We Want Choupo.” And to be able to see the forward get rewarded with a goal is something that is going to be seen more of at Sports Illustrated Stadium as well.

With the momentum back on the side of the Red Bulls it’ll be fascinating to see how the team does as they return to Harrison.

These next two test are going to be a challenge for sure as they Host Columbus and New York City FC.

The first test against the Crew is to be played on May 13 at 7:30 p.m.
