Red Bulls Now enter US Open Cup Play after Draw against Inter Miami

It was a fascinating test for the Red Bulls of New York, but the guys are flying back to the New Jersey area with a 2-2 tie and being able to earn a point on the road.

For the Red Bulls it was a match of first as Jorge Ruvalcaba and Adri Mehmeti got the first goals of the year in the MLS. Assisting on those were Julian Hall as he continues to etch his name in the Red Bulls history book.

For Mehmeti the goal allowed for him to be the youngest goal scorer in the MLS this season and the 16th-youngest in league history.

Adri continuning his development from the Red Bulls II squad showing those that have watched his progress and development why he is going to be a mainstay on the main club for many years to come thanks to his fine play.

As for Julian he was able to become the seventh-youngest player in MLS history with two assists in a match.

One of the biggest storylines coming from the match was the play of goalkeeper Ethan Horvath as with his five saves, he was a huge part of the team gaining points on the road. The biggest save for Horvath was being able to stop an attempt by Lionel Messi in stoppage time from a free kick opportunity.

An interesting fact from the Red Bulls Media Relations department from the play of Ethan was the fact that four of Horvath’s five saves came from within the 18-yard box.

Now it is going to be onto the 2026 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup and facing the defending USL Champions Winners in Pittsburg Riverhounds on Wednesday, April 15 at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
