After making history by winning the Regular Season and Tournament Championship Back-to-Back the St. John’s Men’s Basketball team returned to the New York City area after a nailbiter against Duke in the Sweet 16.
Seeing some incredible play in the NCAA Tournament, the University took some immediate steps in building upon the success that they are seeing so far by offering Head Coach Rick Pitino to a restructured contact and making him the second-highest paid coach in the BIG EAST Conference.
There are some moves for the team happening as even though it is now the offseason things are a flurry of activity as it is being reported by several outlets that Sadiku Ibine Ayo is going to enter the transfer portal.
The transfer portal is going to be something that is going to be intriguing for those that follow the Red Storm, as many are wondering who may now wear a St. John’s Uniform thanks to the Portal.
Till the portal opens up on the 7th of April, the guys get to celebrate a Sweet 16 run and some Post Season Awards as well.
With many seeing a tryout in the NBA Captain Zuby Ejiofor adds to his incredible resume for those scouts by winning the ECAC Player of the Year in March along with being named to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Finalist.
Zuby along with Dylan Darling and Bryce Hopkins were all named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.
It’ll be fascinating to see what type of roster the Men’s Basketball team has when the Season comes rolling along, but for now they get to enjoy the historical run that they had and the fact that they are now a team to be watched for in the world of College Basketball.
