New York City FC now on to regular season play in MLS

After playing in the Sun in California and in the Coachella Invitational things are going to get real for the 2026 edition of the New York City FC team when they face Real Salt Lake on 2/22/26.

In the final match against San Jose the guys played to a 2-0 loss and overall, there are a ton of positives that the team can take with them as they go into the start of play.

Head Coach Pascal Jansen was able to see all of his team in action and continued to build on the relationships that he had with the starters that he was building when he was brought in to lead the squad.

Things are now counting down till the start of the 2026 season and the first test against Real Salt Lake.

Thus far Real Salt Lake and New York City FC have played in seven total matches, with the Claret and Cobalt winning 4 games to New York City FC 2.

The most recent victory for the Boys in Blue was on April 17, 2022, with the finale of that being a score of 6-0. Since then, the teams have had two draws by scores of 0-0 in 2023 and 2-2 in a 2025 Club Friendly.
