With the Men’s Basketball team under the Mike Magpayo era at Rose Hill Gym, it was exciting to see what this years edition of the Rams was going to look like.
The guys were able to pick up win number seven against FDU, and thus far seeing some other quality victories against Mount St. Mary, Wagner, Manhattanville, LIU and others.
There were a ton of impressive qualities that were shown on Wednesday night with the guys seeing a 74-54 victory.
Some of the things that were very impressive were the guys overall defensive play, the ability to adapt to the game as the night progressed, some wonderful passing between the teammates and some great overall team speed as well.
Thus far against Northeast Conference schools, the Rams now have a overall record of 54-14 and that is an impressive mark.
Leading the way for the Rams in scoring were senior guard Christian Henry and grad student guard DeJour Reaves along with Rikus Schulte as they combined for 43 of the teams’ 75 points.

What was encouraging to hear after the team’s victory from Coach Magpayo was the development of Henry and Reaves, as he called them amongst the top guards he has seen in his tenure in College Basketball as well as a two headed monster.
It was that praise along with some of the other things that Coach had said about this squad to bring enthusiasm and hope to this years roster, as they are about to embark on A-10 Conference play.
But first though is going to be a test against the ultra-tough and long time rival Manhattan College on 12/13.
Manhattan thus far has a 4-6 mark going into the Battle of the Bronx, but don’t let the record fool you as the Jaspers always put on one of the best performances of the year against Fordham.
The game between Fordham and Manhattan is scheduled for 12/13, with the action airing on the YES network and with the tip scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
