After building a legacy and history of being able to make playoff appearances and having a 2025 season, in where many felt frustrated by what was happening with the squad and missing the Playoffs.
A new chapter began in Harrison, New Jersey…
It was a chilly day for the journalist that covered the team as they approached Sports Illustrated stadium as days before it was announced that Julian de Guzman is going to be the new Head of Sport for the team.
To official introduce de Guzman and to put the final thoughts on the 2025 season, he and former Head of Sport Jochen Schneider talked about all the things that happened, the start of the search for the new Head Coach and a ton more.

That was one of the biggest questions for the day with Sandro Schwarz now figuring his next chapter is what the next move for the team is going to be Head Coach wise, and having de Guzman as the Head of Sport is going to be a completely different vision for the club.
The rumor mills are already a buzz for the franchise as names such as Jim Curtin and even former Cosmos Coach Giovanni Savarese were just only a few names mentioned for the spot.

de Guzman for sure has a clear vision for what he hopes to see the 2026 Squad looks like and gave props to the New York Red Bulls II as they are playing tremendously in the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs.
It’ll be the start of a new era for the franchise, and many things were covered during the end of the year press conference including what had happened with the team during the team’s DP window area in the Summer, the injury to Lewis Morgan and lots more.
For now though the first biggest step was taken in making de Guzman official as the Head of Sport.
What happens next for those that follow is to see how the Red Bulls II squad does in the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs as they are going to play in Sports Illustrated Stadium for the Eastern Conference Finals, and sometime between now and then the next moves for the franchise is going to be unveiled.
