One of the trends as of late for Gotham FC is the fact that the ladies on the squad are playing a tremendous defensive structure.
Most notably in the match against the Spirit that was something that was noted was the fact that the ladies were able to play tremendous in terms of the defensive side of the ball.

Overall, that is something the ladies on the team take pride in is how they play on the defense, and that was something that shined in the middle of pouring rain at Ichan Stadium in the first Leg of the Concacaf W Champions Cup.

As they entered into the Tournament they do so as the champs and were able to see many impressive performances in the 2-1 victory against CF Monterrey.
Making an impactful debut with the squad were Shelby Hogan along with Kayla Duran, Sofia Cook, and Josefine Hasbo. In addition, they were able to get goals form Bruninha and Khyah Harper.
Hasbo got to be involved in a first of her career, as when she had helped in Bruninha’s goal, that was the first assist of her career.
After an impressive performance and feeling positivity from the crowd, Gotham now has a 1-0-0 record in the Concacaf W Champions Cup and is in second place in the five-team group.
Some other interesting facts and figures compliments of the Gotham FC Public Relations department include the fact that the ladies are now unbeaten in seven matches in the competition.
The ladies are going to have a quick turnaround as on Saturday, August 23 they return to Sports Illustrated Stadium to take on the Utah Royals in NWSL action. The start time of that match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and for those hoping to watch can do so on the ION Network.
