Bronx magic remains for New York City FC in Victory against Toronto

Looking to get back to the way the team plays reguarly, New York City FC got back to what makes them so successful in a wondefully played match against Toronto FC in MLS action at Yankee Stadium.

With the return of Pascal Jansen to the sidelines as the Coach after dealing with a personal manner, the guys showed up with great energy and play with being able to keep Toronto to one goal in the whole match.

Seeing scoring from a wide range of guys the final score was 3-1, much to the delight of the faithful in the Bronx.

It was a defensive masterclass to go along with scoring by Hannes Wolf, Mitja Ilenič and Kevin O’Toole.

What was especially great to see was the continued development of Tomás Romero in the Goalkeeper position as he was able to make some plays that are going to be played on the highlight reel, as he continues to impress.

The biggest stat of the night was the fact that the guys were able to lead in possession % by a tally of 51.9% and in several other categories including Shots 10 to 8, Shots on Goals 5-2 and Passing Accuracy which was 83.4 %

Some other fun facts from the match compliments of the New York City FC PR Department is the fact that Wolf scored his sixth goal in six matches and was also a huge part of the matches with his three assists as well.

For Hannes he was able to record braces in two consectuive matches during the six-match span and is becoming one of the favorites amongst teh NYCFCC faithful because of his style of play.

The Boys in Blue play very well against Toronto as they have an 11-6-7 record in the 24 games played since 2015.

What was even more significant was the fact that the guys were able to get the 100th home victory in regular season plays and to do so in front of an enthusiastic and passionate crowd must have felt great for the squad.

The guys are going to be on the road for a while and return back to the Metropolitan Area as they get to play Puebla in the Leagues Cup on July 29th.
