Anytime New York and New England clash it is going to be a battle that is physical, intense and filled with emotions.
On a foggy and misty day at Yankee Stadium New York City FC played to a 2-1 victory in front of an incredible crowd in the Bronx.
Even though things didn’t get off to a great start the Boys in Blue rebounded in style and got themselves a huge three points.

The not-so-great start was in the 26′ as an own goal gave the visiting side a 1-0 lead. That moment did not bring the mood of the team down at all though, as they pressed and put themselves in positions to score and be successful in the match.
They were able to do so at the 38′ when Julián Fernández tied up the match before the whistle for the half sounded.
For Fernández the goal was the first of the season, and thus far the forward is a huge part of the team’s offense as he was a part of the Hannes Wolf goal in the match against Orlando City SC.
Then after the half the momentum continued and the guys were able to double the lead on a goal by Alonso Martínez in the 68′.
Martínez is on a roll as the goal was the third of the season, as well as being on a four-match goal streak at home, which dates back to October 2, 2024.
New York City FC plays very well in the friendly confines of Yankee Stadium as they have seven wins, three losses and three draws.
It was an overall thriller for the guys and the fans in attendance as afterward the guys took time to interact with the faithful that was in attendance.
The next portion of the schedule is going to be a tough one for the guys as they go on the road to Columbus and Atlanta before returning back to Yankee Stadium to take on Minnesota in April.
