Red Bulls win Thriller against Montréal

In an epic clash at Sports Illustrated Stadium the New York Red Bulls defeated CF Montréal by a final of 1-0.

These two teams were on top of each other throughout the match ensuring the other wouldn’t get much room to generate offense and that showed at the Half as the teams were scoreless.

It was in the Second Half that the Red Bulls gained full momentum and found that combination of passing that got them the lone goal and eventual game-winner.

The goal scoring came from Defender Noah Eile as he recorded the first career MLS goal.

Helping on the scoring chance was Omar Valencia, which was the third assist of the season. With the helper Valencia became tied for the second-most assist in the league by a defender.

Making several quality saves and having an incredible day was goalkeeper Carlos Coronel, as he got to be a part of the fourth clean sheet of the season.

Thanks to this moment Coronel is tied for second most in the league; in an additional cool fact from the Red Bulls Public Relations Department is the fact that he was able to make five saves, which is tied for second-most in a single game.

Some other fun facts from the folks at the Red Bulls media relations hub include the fact that Duncan was able to make his first start and appearance for the franchise since August 31, 2004.

The milestone moment of the day came when Tim Parker subbed in the 83rd minute to make his 100th apperance, and also the team saw Sean Nealis making his 143rd career appearance.

Nealis had a nice moment after his milestone moment interacting with the supporters in attendance and signing autographs to celebrate the special day.

It’ll be the month of May incoming and to start that new chapter the guys are going to be on the road to take on Inter Miami.

In the MLS Standings the Red Bulls are in eighth place and are hoping to catch up to the Flordia based MLS Cup as they are in fifth place.
