Oh, So Close as New York City FC falls to Minnesota

It was a tight one at Yankee Stadium as New York City FC dropped a 2-1 decision to Minnesota in MLS action on Sunday.

The guys had themselves chances to get those three points, including a penalty kick opportunity, as well as seeign some great combinations in the Second Half.

Minnesota though at the conclusion of it all did a tremendous job of being able to block up the majority of the opportunities, staying in front of the guy’s chances, sliding, tackling and overall keeping the guys to one goal in the match.

That one goal coming from Keaton Parks, as there are going to be things for the guys to work on prior to the next home match to take place on 4/12/25 at Citi Field.

Fans are also encouraged to view the following video as Head Coach Pascal Jansen shares these thoughts after the team’s loss to Minnesota in MLS action on Yankee Stadium on 4/6/25. Video is compliments of NYCFC:

Keaton now has 30 total goal contributes (15G and 15A) in MLS play.

Some of the positives from the match included the fact that Goalkeeper Matt Freese etched his name on the all-time series leader in saves against Minnesota with seven.

This is the team’s first loss in 2025 in front of the faithful at Yankee Stadium, and there are going to be questions abound for all that follow as the guys are going to prepare and train for what is going to be a fascinating test against Philadelphia incoming.
