With the NWSL in full momentum the ladies of the Washington Spirit are in the Washington D.C. area and are putting the final touches on a day full of fun and festivities in hosting Bay FC in NWSL Action.
That match to be played today (March 28) is going to be the fourth the team is playing in the NWSL Season.
Thus far the ladies only faced one loss at Audi, but have always during the 2024 Season played well in the home venue.
Head Coach Jonatan Giráldez and forward Makenna Morris sat with the members of the media via Zoom and chatted on a wide range of topics when it came time to that upcoming match against Bay FC.
On March 26, Morris got herself some great news as she got the call to the US U-23 team that is going to be preparing in Loas Angeles Next Month.
Morris is on a roaring start as she scored the opening goal of the regular season. During the 2024 Season the Forward had three goals and an assist.
Having previously played with Clemson, Makenna made a tremendous impact in her rookie year. The numbers for the forward include the fact that she played in 534 minutes.
The memorable moment for Morris was when she scored the game-winning goal in the September 27 match at Angel City.
Makenna has some fond memories playing against Bay FC as that was her first career start in the match played on July 6 and also scored a game-winning goal along with an assist and drawing a penalty kick.
It’ll be an action packed day in Washington D.C. as the Spirit host Bay FC at Audi Field at 8:00 p.m.
