Thus far since the home venue got renamed to Sports Illustrated Stadium, the moments within have gotten more and more memorable.
The New York Red Bulls have a 2-0-1 record since the rename and fans within getting to see the first MLS goal of the newly acquired Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and seeing the play of goalkeeper AJ Marcucci as he played a huge role in the team’s recent victory against Toronto FC.
That match played on Saturday was an extra special one as the guys were able to defeat longtime rival Toronto FC in getting back to the winning ways.
Seeing Marcucci in the cage for the franchise is a special moment as he was the goalkeeper with the New York Red Bulls II squad before going to IF Gnistan. In getting those opportunities he was fully prepared to start in the match against Toronto and showed his quality.
As for the offense of the squad things got going in the 44′ as Emil Forsberg converted on a penalty kick.

Then the teams returned from the half and then saw scoring by Deandre Kerr in the 70′ to tie the match for Toronto and then again from Forsberg to gain the huge three points at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
For Forsberg the goals were the 11th and 12th of the season and thus far played well against toronto as he has four overall goals in the two career matches against Toronto.
This was Emil’s third multi-goal game of his MLS Career, while he has now converted on all six of his MLS regular season penalty kicks.
The Red Bulls continuing to fare well as a franchise against Torono improved his record to 18-2-2, while also extended the winning streak at Red Bulls/Sports Illustrated to eight matches.
There was a milestone moment in the match as Sean Nealis made his 140th career MLS appearance, which moved him passing defender Aaron Long into sole possession of third place in appearances.
It was tremendous for the guys to get back into the winning column, especially with the next test coming up as the guys go on the road to take on the ultra tough New England Revolution on March 29 with the start time for that match scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
