It is going to be a full circle moment for New York City FC as 10 years ago, Major League Soccer introduced these two franchises to the fan bases in New York and Florida.
Since then both the Boys in Blue and Orlando have gone on to make memorable momens and etch the names of the squads as those to watch for in the league.
When it came time for New York City FC the achievements they have had in the past 10 years is impressive, having participated in playoffs, winning the MLS Championship, getting homegrown talent to be transformed into international stars and lots more.

As the countdown is on till these two franchises meet in the 2025 edition of the rivarly, there is a ton of changes and additions that are going to be seen within the New York City FC squad.
Starting with the fact that they are led by Head Coach Pascal Jansen and seeing the latest in homegrown players like Johnny Shore seeing time on the pitch.
There is still a ton of veteran presence on the 2025 squad to help to lead in the winning ways that is built throughout the years.
When it comes time for going up against Orlando, fans that are going to be in attendance at Yankee Stadium on Saturday are going to expect a scoring affair, as both teams have the capability to find the back of the net on any occassion.
The good news for those that follow and support the club is that the guys play great in Home Openers at Yankee Stadium, holding a 6-1-2 record.
Another part of the good news as the team has a 9-8-7 mark against Orlando SC, holding a five game unbeaten streak.
In the previous victory against Orlando, the Boys in Blue saw a 4-2 decision on June 28, 2024.
There is going to be a ton of events as well as excitment that are going to be planned for the team’s Home Opener on March 8. One of those announced on the Team’s official X (aka Twitter) account that the team is going to have a meet & greet with some of the alum during the Home Opener.
Slated to be there on Saturday is Kwadwo Poku, Tony Rocha and RJ Allen from about 6:15 -7:00 p.m.
