History made for Nationally Ranked Duke in victory Against Illinois

With an incredible atmosphere at Madison Square Garden for the SentinelOne Classic, it was No. 3 Duke conducting the Universties largest victory against Illinois by a final of 110-67.

It was all gas for the Blue Devils (24-3, 15-1 ACC) as they got an early lead and never looked back. One of the keys to the success of Duke was the fact that they had seven players in double-figures.

Leading the way in the victory was Isaiah Evans with his 17 points, also faring well is the future top pick in the NBA Draft in Cooper Flagg with his 16 points.

As for Illinois (17-11, 9-8 Big Ten), the night is one that they are going to learn from, as they hope to retain the form that makes them so successful throughout the College Basketball Season.

There were some positive notes for the guys though and that includes the fact that they had four players in double figure scoring led by Tre White as he had 16 points, while also going 6-of-9 shooting from the field.

With fans from both Illinois and Duke packing Madison Square Garden to support their favorite team. MSG has gotten to see a ton of history thanks to the Blue Devils travel to the metropolitan area as they have gotten to see mroe Duke wins in any area outside of North Carolina.

As for Illinois this is the third consecutive season for the team playing in the World’s Most Famous Arena, as they are following back-to-back victories in the Jimmy V Classic.

Up next for Duke University is going to be a trip to Coral Gables, Florida to take on Miami at the Watsco Center on February 25.

As for Illinois they return back to the State Farm Center to host Iowa on February 25.
