After the training and the practice sessions it is time to see what the 2025 New York City FC team is all about. How is the New Head Coach Pascal Jansen going to fit in when it comes time for the moments that he is going to lead the team through.
In addition there are a ton of other questions that are abound, such as how are some of the newer guys going to fare on the roster, which member of the MLS SuperDraft are going to possibly see time with the squad and lots more.
For now though the complete and total focus of the team is the very first match against Inter Miami.
This is going to be the 11th meeting between the two franchises with the Boys in Blue having a 6-1-3 record. Thus far all the stats are in favor of NYCFC including shots (122), shots on target (42).
Some of the things to watch for during the course of the match is the fact that if he gets a chance to play in the match Midfielder Maxi Moralez may have a chance to surpass midfielder Alexander Ring as the all-time series leader in assist, with three assists.
Another interesting fact compliments of the NYCFC PR Department include the fact Midfielder Santiago Rodríguez is currently the all-time series leader in shots on goal against Miami, with seven.
Moralez, Rodriguez and Alonso Martínez are a trio of players that have scored in the matches against Miami.

It is going to be an exciting season for the Boys in Blue, as already the team is interacting with the community and planning exciting events to get the City behind the Squad.
NYCFC announced through the team’s official X (Twitter) site that there is going to be a watch party for those unable to be in Florida for the opening of the season. The watch party is going to be held at Stout NYC Grand Central on February 22, 2025 with the action starting at 7:30 p.m.
