With the team hard at work in Tampa, Flordia getting ready for the first official match of the 2025 NWSL Season, there is continued progress and bonding by all that are on the roster.
As the members of the media covering the team all gathered together on Zoom, everyone got to gather together and interact with forward Trinity Rodman and defender Casey Krueger.
Rodman is taking the NWSL by storm, here are some of the achievements the rising star is accomplishing thus far with being one of the faced of the franchise.
Thus far Rodman was named to The Best FIFA Football Awards that recognizes the best players, coaches and goals in global soccer, in additon Trinity also was a finalist for the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year award.
Trinity also is seen playing with the USWNT where she was a huge part of the Concacaf W Gold Cup, The SheBelievesCup and the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Ever since Rodman sported the Washington Spirit uniform she always makes some sort of impact, from scoring incredible highlight reel goals or taking time to interact with the fans at Audi Field, giving them game-used cleats and autographs and incredible interactions that last a lifetime.
Some of the stats for Rodman include the fact that during the 2024 Season she played in an incredible 1,770 regular season matches, while also appearing in 23 regular season matches and all three playoff matches as well.
The other memorable moments for Rodman came during the 2023 season when she finished first on the team with 61 shots and 31 shots on target, while becoming the youngest player in NWSL history to record 10 assists and 10 goals in a regular season career. Trinity also became the youngest player in Spirit history to make 50 appearances with the team.
As for Defender Casey Krueger, she is a huge part of the success of the Spirit after coming to the team after playing with Chicago.
Thus far Casey is also creating some incredible moments in Washington D.C. including the fact that she was named on the NWSL Best XI honors for the month of June, which was her 14 such recognition.
Casey and Trinity are teammates on the USWNT and got to be a huge part of the 2024 Olympic Games.
The Duo are going to be a huge part of the Washington Spirit as they enter into the NWSL Season. The ladies start first with a rematch of the 2024 NWSL Championship by taking on the Orlando Pride.
The two franchises are going to play on Friday, March 7 at 8:00 p.m. at InterCo Stadium in downtown Orlando, Florida.
In the team’s last appearance in the Challenge Up that was in 2022, and they were able to advance through a challenging field of 12-teams, with the ultimate victory coming against Seattle in the semis.
The 2024 Season was an incredible one for the Spirit where the ladies were able to set new single season club marks on the pitch in victories (18, also a league record), points (56) and goals (51) in front of what were incredible crowds at Audi Field.
So far with every Zoom Session and the interactions with the players things sound positive and optimistic and the energy is positive as everyone is bonding and gelling well with all that are going to be a part of the roster for the 2025 Season.
The ladies are going to continue the training in Tampa till February 26, and then return to the Washington D.C. area for continue training in a more familiar settings.
