New York City FC Preseason Begins

All the training and hard work the Boys in Blue are putting into the training Sessions are starting to be put into action, as the team’s 2025 Preseason Schedule is starting.

Under some incredible scenery at the 2025 Coachella Valley Invitational New York City FC and Sporting Kansas City played to a 0-0 draw.

There were a ton of incredible opportunities for the team as they are now under the guidance of Head Coach Pascal Jansen and for the supporters and followers of the team to see how exactly things are going to come together.

New York City FC saw the first brilliant combination of the game from Kevin O’Toole and Mitja Ilenič.
The overall quality of combinations progressed and continued to be a trend especially in the 21st minute.

O’Toole shares these thoughts from after the draw…with the video being compliment of New York City FC:

Maxi Moralez and Keaton Parks created an opportunity that almost got cashed in.

In the 26th minute the team’s defense shined through as a tackle by Birk Risa helped to keep the team scoreless.

After a thrilling half, the play and quality continue in the second as getting some time in the match were Jonathan Shore, Mounsef Bakrar, and Nicholas Cavallo.

The highlight from the second half came from Tayvon Gray as he not only had himself a stellar chance on offense but also made an outstanding play on the defensive side of the ball.

After an overall wonderful first preseason performance the guys ended in a draw and were able to see some of the results of the play that they are putting together so far.

The guys are going to continue the preseason play as well as the 2025 Coachella Valley Invitational with a match against San Diego FC on Saturday, February 8 at 3:00 p.m.
