Gotham FC (13-4-5) made an impactful return to NWSL Play with a 5-1 victory against Bay FC in an action-packed night at Red Bull Arena.
As the ladies are sitting in Third Place in the standings and having a ton of momentum in the middle of the Second Half of the season.
Returning to the Metropolitan Area after an incredible trip to Jamaica and a CONCACAF W Champions Cup (13-0) performance against Frazsier Whip FL, there are some that are wondering if that match is going to be the momentum changing one for the franchise as they start making the way to the playoffs.
There is a ton of both NWSL and CONCACAF W Champions Cup action left to be played, but for now those that follow the franchise are thrilled with the style of play the ladies have, on a night that promotes those to watch women’s sports.
With most of the lower section at Red Bull Arena being filled with regulars along with kids in attendance, they chose a wonderful match to be a part of as the ladies showed a great all-around team game.
In the milestone moment of the night Captain Lynn Williams reached the 150-appearance milestone with her appearance against Bay FC, and she made it a memorable one getting many fine touches and helping to facilitate the offensive style.

Memorable moments also included some fine defensive play by Jess Carter, a brace by Esther Gonzalez as she brought the energy to the team, and the first goal in a Gotham FC uniform for Cece Kizer.
Also showing some video game quality style of soccer was Midfielder Rose Lavelle, as she also scored a goal in the 70′.

There were some impressive numbers for the ladies in terms of stats of the game as they were able to lead Bay FC in possession 52-48, passes 403-371, and pass accuracy 78-75%.
Every moment the team has in NWSL play is going to be ones that have the fans on the edge of the seat as points are going to be vital to the team’s positioning leading to the NWSL Playoffs.
Up next for the ladies is going to be a road trip to Chicago on Saturday, October 12 to take on the Red Stars at SeatGeek Stadium with that match scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and airing on the NWSL + network.
