As the Brooklyn Cyclones open up the final stretch of home games in Coney Island, the guys were able to do so in a sensational fashion by keeping their East Coast Rivals the Wilmington Blue Rocks off the scoreboard and won the game by a final of 6-0.

With the team celebrating Bark in the Park as the team’s therapy dog Paco as he was able to be a part of the furriest and adorable first pitch.

From there it was starter Zach Thornton pitching 5.1 innings and sat down five batters to lead the way on the mound for Brooklyn and from there it was all the Cyclones Bullpen keeping the Blue Rocks off balance.

Kyle Crick fared well with two strikeouts in 1.0 Innings Worked and Justin Lawson leading the SAL in Saves, impressed by striking out all three batters.

According to the Cyclones Public Relations office Lawson is tied with Joshua Cornielly and two others in the league with eight.

For the Cyclones the shutout is a franchise record 13 as thus far the biggest story coming from Coney Island is the team’s pitching staff with many of the starters including most recently RHP Jonah Tong getting the call to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

As for the bats Chris Suero was the man of the hour with his three hits, including a solo bomb to left field.
Kellum Clark the Mets 20th Round Draft pick also fared well finishing the game with three hits and Junior Tilien continues to play a solid defense along with lacing two hits in the game against Wilmington.

On Monday the franchise welcomed Saul Garcia, Ryan Lambert, Boston Baro and Ronald Hernandez to Coney Island.

Baro made an immediate impact with the team as he ripped a single to left field in the first inning and recorded his first RBI in the Bottom of the Eighth Inning.

The Second Game between the Cyclones and Blue Rocks is happening on September 4 (today) as the projected starters is Garcia for Brooklyn and Bryan Caceres (3-8, 4.97 ERA) for Wilmington.

Garcia gets to see more time in Coney Island, as the Venezuela-native got the call from St. Lucie. Thus far the righty holds a 3-8 record, a 5-43 ERA, a 66.1 IP and struck out 79 batters. Saul got a cup of coffee with the franchise in 2023 as he made three appearances (2 starts) and had a 1-0 record.

The start time for Game Two is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with the team having a Meal Deal Ticket Offer to go along with the action that is scheduled to happen.
