Featuring a play where the team stretched the FC Cincinnati Defense along with some blazing speed the New York Red Bulls (9-4-1) started the era of the new mascot Redd with a victory against a very tough team at Red Bull Arena on Saturday.
Things got started early for the guys as Lewis Morgan scored the first goal on assist by Elias Manoel and Dylan Nealis on a beauty of a play as the guys were able to connect and stretch the field.
From there it was the guys getting back to some stellar defensive plays and clutch saves by Carlos Coronel to get the squad into the locker with a 1-0 lead.

Lewis Morgan :
When the guys came from the locker in the second half all the momentum was in favor of the Red Bulls as a you had to see it to believe it goal by Kyle Duncan doubled the lead. Morgan was able to get his second goal at the 59′ and from there it was all the team’s defense.
Cincinnati is going to be a team to watch for in the MLS season and showed a ton of heart and grit during the course of the game and was able to find the back of the net at the 67′ as Corey Baird found the back of the cage.
This was a huge one for the guys as they were able to break a string of draws and even more important much needed momentum as the guys prepare for the 2024 League Cup Tournament.
It is going to be an epic match for the guys as they hope to win the first championship of the 2024 Season, as they are going to go up against Pachuca and Toronto FC.
To open the League Cup Tournament is going to be a match against Toronto FC on Saturday, July 27 and then after that they are going to go up against Pachuca. Currently the Liga MX club is in 10th place in the league’s standings.
Pachuca is one of the more historical clubs in Liga MX as they date back to the 1850 when Cornish miners emigrated to Mexico.
When talking about the upcoming Leagues Cup Tournament Head Coach Sandro Schwarz along with some of the guys on the team were genuinely excited to test themselves against the tough competition from Mexico.
