Gotham FC Looking Strong as they Head Into International Break

With the majority of the roster heading to Paris for the 2024 Olympics, the ladies of Gotham FC head into the international break with the sweep of Angel City FC on July 7 in NWSL Action.

The franchise is keeping very busy as of late as goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger was named to Germany’s roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Ann-Katrin is playing wonderfully as a goalkeeper and thanks to her play she is also going to be participating in a pair of qualifying matches for the Women’s EURO 2025 for Germany prior to heading to the Olympics.

Gotham FC also gets to see Tierna Davidson, Crystal Dunn, Rose Lavelle, Jenna Nighswonger and Emily Sonnett all playing for Club and Country as they were listed for the U.S. Women’s National Team Roster for the 2024 Olympics.

Those that are going to watch the game should also keep an eye on is Lynn Williams as she is an alternate for the games that are happening in Paris.

In the season sweep against Anel City FC the franchise saw Lavelle scoring her fifth goal of the season, along with Delanie Sheehan scored her first regular-season goal.

There are some impressive numbers coming from the franchise as Gotham FC sits in fourth place in the NWSL standings and that includes the fact that Ella Stevens and Lavelle are tied in seventh place in the NWSL in scoring with five goals each.

In addition, Nighswonger is ranked tied ninth in the NWSL in assist as she has three.

Up next for the ladies of Gotham FC is going to be the inaugural NWSL X LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup match against the Chicago Red Stars to be played at SeetGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, IL on July 20. That match is scheduled to be played at 5:00 p.m.
