Road Warriors as New York City FC Blank New England

Winners of seven of the last eight matches New York City FC is a team that is trending upward, with the latest thriller being a 1-0 victory against the New England Revolution on Saturday.

The Boys in Blue are winners of the last three road trips, with the last time the franchise achieved that feat was in 2019. In addition, the team have 12 points in the last four matches played.

Some of the memorable moments in addition to the milestones that were seen in the team’s victory come from the play of Matt Freese as he tallied seven saves during the night. For Freese this is the seventh time he made five or more saves this season while being in the net for the third shutout of the season.

The goa lscoring came from midfielder Keaton Parks, and the tally was the second of the season. It was air Keaton as he flew through the air and gently guided the ball in the 81′.

Gaining the assist on the goals were Tayvon Gray and Justin Haak as they both got to see a milestone during the night.

Gray got to now have assist in back-to-back matches, with the last time he achieved that feat was against the New York Red Bulls. While Haak was able to help in his first of the season.

There were several impressive stats for the Boys in Blue as the guys led in saves 7-3, having a great passing accuracy with a 87.2%, totaling 14 shots and four of them on goal.

The great news for the team is the fact that they get to return to the New York Area on Friday, May 31 to host the San Jose Earthquakes for a 7:30 p.m. match at Yankee Stadium.

New York City FC always plays well in front of the Home Crowd, as the last time the guys were in Yankee Stadium they were able to gain a 2-1 victory against Charlotte and a 2-0 victory against New England.
