Gotham FC West Coast Winners with 2-0 victory over Bay FC

Winners of six in a row the ladies of Gotham FC were able to gain a huge 2-0 victory against Bay FC on Friday night NWSL action.

The victory for the ladies of New York/New Jersey is a first, as they were able to keep Bay FC off the scoreboard for the second time this year.

Scoring in quick fashion is Ella Stevens as she had a brace withing two minutes and eleven seconds between the goals. Stevens is trending upward for the franchise as she scored in three-straight games.

The match between Gotham and Bay was highly entertaining as the ladies out West showed a quality soccer team and having some stellar scoring opportunities. New York/ New Jersey Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger shined in the net coming through with some big saves.

Those watching the match both in person and through the Amazon Prime were also impressed by the play of Rose Lavelle, Maycee Bell and Delanie Sheehan.

Bell put in some impressive numbers as she won 10 of the 15 duels during the course of the night, along with having seven of eight tackles.

Also trending upward, the last few matches is Esther as the World Cup Champion is a huge part of the franchise having some tremendous opportunities on the offensive side of the ball.

Esther was able to record her second assist in as many games, while creating two scoring opportunities.

Thus far Gotham FC and the team’s defense helping to win matches is a continuing trend, as the franchise continues to lead the league in fewest goals conceded with seven.

In the milestone moment for the franchise Forward Crystal Dunn reached the 10,000 regular season minutes plateau against Bay FC.

Gotham FC returns back to the New York/New Jersey area with a match against Angel City on Saturday, June 8 with the start of the action scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
