As the ladies of Gotham FC open up a two-game road stand in Houston it is the team Captain Lynn Williams scoring the lone goal in the team’s huge victory on Wednesday night NWSL action.
For Lynn the goal is an NWSL record-tying one and is one that helped the franchise to the second in consecutive matches.
Another impressive fact courtesy of the Gotham FC PR Department is the fact that Lynn has now scored in back-to-back games and is tied with Sam Kerr for most NWSL career goals in all competitions, with 78 total goals.
There were a ton of impressive performances for the ladies in the match including the play of Jenna Nighswonger, Ella Stevens, Delanie Sheehan and others.
In terms of stats from the game the ladies concluded with 21 shots, 11 of them being on goal with leading in possession (52%-48%), completed passes (307-281), and dangerous attacks (52-14).
The ladies continue the road stand with a match against the San Diego Wave on Sunday, May 12 with the action set to start at 7:30 p.m. Then after that the ladies return to Red Bull Arena and host the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, May 19 with the action scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
