Rainy Day Blues for NYCFC in loss to Colorado

With some moderate to heavy rain fall in the Queens area the Boys in Blue put forth the best effort that they could but at the end of the full time it was a tough 2-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids in MLS action.

Scoring the goals for the Rapids are Rafael Navarro and Cole Bassett as the trend was in favor of Colorado in terms of being able to find the right formula for the three points.

New York City FC had a ton of positive things to point towards, including some tremendous chances in both halves.

Probably one of the more impressive performances came from Mounsef Bakrar. There were also some quality chances by Agustin Ojeda and Santi Rodriguez.

At the Half New York City FC had some impressive stats including Possession % 58-42, total passes 341-189 and passing accuracy 85.6%-74.6%.

There was a bit of a milestone moment for the Boys in Blue as Defender Thiago Martins made 89 passes.

With the rain along with goal scoring opportunities increasing the Boys in Blue did everything they could to gain the three points, but it was ultimately the tough defense of Colorado along with the game-winner by Bassett that gained the victory.

For the team this is the first loss against the Rapids, as the overall record stands at 3W-1L-3D. In addition, good news while in the New York area they were able to gain 10 of 15 points and are hoping to bring the momentum they built while being at home on the road.

Up fist for the guys is going to be a match against Toronto that is going to be played on Saturday, May 11 at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. with the start time scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
