Cyclones and IronBirds Brining the fun to fans in Coney Island

So far as a six-game series between the Brooklyn Cyclones (12-12) and Aberdeen IronBirds (13-11) is bringing a ton of fun and action-packed baseball to the fans in Coney Island.

While the Cyclones started on a strong note as they won Game One on Tuesday by a final of 9-2, the other two games were tightly contested losses by final scores of 6-2 and 7-1.

Some of the stars from Game One include a stellar first inning that got started by a single by Stanley Consuegra. Then there were clutch hits by Nick Lorusso (double), William Lugo and a homer run blast by Omar De Los Santos.

The Cyclones continued their fine hitting in the Bottom of the Sixth as Lorusso ripped a triple to left field that made the score 9-0.

As for the pitchers Douglas Orellana went 4.1 innings in the start, sitting down three batters. Getting the victory in the game is Jordanny Ventura as he struck out five in 3.2 Innings worked.

Then in the Second Game on Wednesday the Cyclones were able to get key hits from the team’s resident Unicorn in Nolan McLean as he blasted a homer to left center field in the Bottom of the Second.

Lorusso continues to show why he is going to be a prospect to watch for with his key eye with a single to left field in the Bottom of the third in making the score close for the Cyclones at the time.

In Game Three fans in attendance were able to see the debut of pitcher Jonah Tong and he did not disappoint as he went five innings in what was a fine performance.

Tong getting the call from Single-A St. Lucie has yet to allow an unearned run in 23.2 Innings.

Lorusso found a hole in the left field and busted through the base paths for a double and set the stage for Junior Tilien as he kept the line going with a single to left field.

There were a ton of other fine pitching performances for the Cyclones in Game Three, as Dakota Hawkins struck out four batters and Joshua Cornielly struck out a batter as well.

The Cyclones and IronBirds continue the six-game series with Game Four on Friday May 2 with the start time scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
