Three in a Row for New York City FC in Clutch victory against Charlotte

On a beautiful day in New York City and with a crowd of 20,119 in attendance at Yankee Stadium, New York City FC (4-4-2) were comeback kids against Charlotte FC (3-5-2) in the 2-1 victory.

It is a feel-good moment for the Boys in Blue as they notched the first W against Charlotte. There were a ton of impressive stats for the guys as they won their fifth consecutive match and now have 11 points and eight goals.

This is a great trend for the squad as the streak that they are on is the longest since they accomplished the feat from September 17, 2022, to October 23, 2022.

In another positive trend the Boys in Blue are playing great in front of the crowd as they have won the last three matches at Yankee Stadium.

The start of the night started on the favor of Charlotte as Kerwin Vargas found the center of the box from an assist by Nikola Petkovic in the 3′.

Then it was in the Second Half that the Boys in Blue took over as Keaton Parks tied up the night with a header from the center of the box, with an assist by Julián Fernández.

For Parks the goal is the first time that he was able to find the back of the cage since June 25, 2023, against the Portland Timbers.

After a flurry of both chances by both Charlotte and New York City FC it was in the stoppage time that Alonso Martínez lifted the team to the huge three points at Yankee Stadium, as he was able to connect on a right footed shot on an assist by Santiago Rodríguez.

An impressive stat when it comes time for Martínez is the fact that the goal is the second of the season, as he is tied with Fernández for the second most goals.

Santi has played with a great energy and enthusiasm for the squad so far and is getting rewarded for his play and putting in some impressive numbers. Thus far Rodríguez stats include four goals and two assists this season and all in front of the NYCFC faithful.

Speaking of Fernández he continues to impress fans of New York City FC with his style of play and creativity. The assist in the match is the second time that the Forward has recorded this season. Julián is putting in some impressive numbers for the squad as he is contributing to goals in the last three games in the MLS (2 goals and 1 assist).

The Boys in Blue open up the Month of May by hosting the Colorado Rapids in MLS Action at Citi Field on Sunday, May 5 with the start of the match scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
