Gotham FC Look to regain Winning ways against Racing Louisville

The 2024 NWSL Season is in full swing thus far and the ladies of Gotham FC are looking to regain their winning was as they head into the next home match at Red Bull Arena on Sunday, April 28 against Racing Louisville.

Thus far the ladies are leading when it comes time for stats but have not been able to find that rhythm needed when it comes time for scoring. In the most recent match against the Washington Spirit one of the impressive stats from the match was the fact that the team held a 52.4% advantage in possession.

Getting the first start of the 2024 season as well as wearing the Captains Armband is Lynn Williams and the team responded in style playing a fast-paced style of play.

It was at the end of the match the Washington Spirit coming on top with the 2-0 result, though there were a ton of opportunities for the ladies.

Some of the stars from the match were goalkeeper Cassie Miller as she made several highlight reel saves and defender Bruninha as she made an incredible sliding play to deny a scoring opportunity by Trinity Rodman.

Gotham FC got to see the debut of Maycee Bell in the match against the Spirit, and the defender is going to have a bright future with the squad as thus far she is fitting right in.

Bell drafted by Gotham FC in the 2024 NWSL Draft from the University of North Carolina, was an All-ACC Second Team Selection as well as being named to the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on September 19.

It is going to be interesting to see how Head Coach Juan Carlos Amoros is going to get Bell along with all the other new additions to Gotham FC playing time on the field and how the subs and starters are going to be throughout the season.

In the breaking news from the match in Washington D.C. there is going to be a ton of excitement for both Gotham FC and the Washington Spirit as they are going to be a part of the NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup match to be played at Subaru Park, the home off the Philadelphia Union on Sunday, July 28 with the first match to be played at 6:00 p.m.

The team is back in the New York City are and hard at work with training as they prepare for the next match against Racing Louisville that is going to be held on Sunday, April 28 at Red Bull Arena. Start time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
