Future is Bright for Yankees Prospect Ben Rice

On a beautiful day in Oceanport, New Jersey fans lined up to meet Yankees Prospect Ben Rice. In a fun and festive atmosphere at Baseline Social, and with the New York Yankees not only in the background taking BP but also in the sights of the catcher as with the style of play he is having on the field, it is just a matter of time before the prospect turns Pro.

Rice, also spending time at Dartmouth College was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 2021 MLB Draft in the 12th Round with the 363 Overall Pick.

During his time with Darthmouth Ben recorded six multi-hit games in 18 starts and as a catcher he was able to throw out more than half of the base runners that attempted to steal from him.

Thus far the catcher is working his way up through the Yankees Minor League System, as he is at the Somerset Patriots, which is the Yankees Double-A Affiliate.

In his MiLB Career the catcher has the following numbers of 164 hits, 33 HR, 118 RBI and a .392 OBP. Thanks to his style of play Rice was named the 2023 Yankees Minor League Position Player of the Year.

With a day off from the MiLB schedule Rice was at the Baseline Social as a part of the events that promoter Frank Luna held on Monday, and some of the proceeds of the day went to Ma Deuce Deuce.

The purpose of Ma Deuce Deuce is to provide Vets with PTSD a diversity of free restorative and therapeutic programs. For more information on Ma Deuce Deuce fans are encouraged to click on the link below:

It was a great event for all to attend as they were able to interact with the future star and many got to ask questions about his time with the Patriots thus far, what his favorite video gaming system is and much more.

Afterward Rice was able to interact with some of the children in attendance in opening up a pack of baseball cards and traded with them to help them in completing the collection.

With his positive attitude and hustle and heart shown on the field it is probably just a matter of time before we see the Dartmouth product in the Bronx.
